Adastra — Topeka

This project was to place a bronze statue onto the top of the Kansas State Capital Dome in Topeka, KS in 2002. The crane used was a Manitowoc M-250, series 2 crawler, equipped with 190' main boom, 200' luffing boom, and 60' of fixed jib. The challenges were tip height and radius required to make the lift.

Railroad Bridge Move — Kansas City

This project, performed in 2006, involved removing two truss spans from a historic railroad bridge, hauling through the downtown area of Kansas City, MO, and re-erecting. Removal involved a Manitowoc M-250, series 2 crawler and a Demag AC-180 All-terrain hydraulic crane. Hauling was performed, using four, six-line Goldhofer platform trailers, and two prime movers. Erection was performed by a Linkbelt LS-718 and the same Demag AC-180. This job was featured on the History Channel series, Mega Movers.

Omaha Pedestrian Bridge — Omaha

Completed in September 2008, this was a Design/Build contract for a 2,222 foot long, curvilinear, cable stayed bridge, over the Missouri River at Omaha, NE. this project, not only involved our cranes, but also Flexi-floats and a prefabricated steel trestle bridge, for a crane runway.

Arrowhead Stadium Renovations — Kansas City

Following the 2008 football season, a massive renovation and modification began at Arrowhead Stadium. Wilkerson provided the largest cranes, on site. Placing concrete formwork, rebar, precast concrete, and structural steel. Two Manitowoc M-250, series 2 crawlers were on site, one using 150' main boom and 120' luffing jib, and one using 260' main boom and 60’ fixed jib. Other cranes were provided on an "as needed" basis.

Verizon Wireless — Branson

Job required placing a twenty thousand pound cellular phone shelter onto an existing hotel roof 147 feet tall at a 167' crane radius. The crane could not be moved, after assembly, and the job duration could not exceed three days, start to finish. The machine used was a Manitowoc M-250, series 2, with 180' main boom and 80' fixed jib.

Grandview Triangle — Kansas City

This project began in 2003, and was completed in 2005. Phase 3 involved construction of seven major bridge structures, including placement of over 21,000 cubic yards of structural concrete, erection of 9,000,000 pounds of structural steel, including structural steel caps, the largest of which weighed over 450,000 pounds.

Aquila — Pleasant Hill, MO

This job was performed in 2002. The units were ordered and shipped by rail, two years before they were needed. Our scope of work was to unload three gas turbines, and the matching generators, the maximum weights of which were 360,000 lb., and place on concrete pads for storage. Two Demag hydraulic cranes, rigging, and all labor, was provided by Wilkerson Crane.

Iatan Power Station — Unit 2

Kansas City Power and Light expanded the Iatan, MO Generating Station by adding Unit 2. Wilkerson provided two 150 ton crawlers, for over one year, hydraulic cranes at various time, and 300 ton crawlers, with main boom and fixed jib, and with luffing jib combinations. These machines made multiple trips to the project, for different segments of the construction.
